Fees may be charged for non-NHS examinations, e.g. “Fitness to Drive” examinations, private medical treatment, some insurance forms, in accordance with BMA recommendations.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.  This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.  There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations.  These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.  Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.  This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

We offer a full range of childhood and general immunisations by appointment with the doctor or nurse, as appropriate.

When enquiring about travel immunisations please have in mind your date of departure, your destination and the duration of your stay in each place.

Contact reception to arrange an appointment with one of our travel nurses.

We offer a full range of contraceptive and maternity medical care in conjunction with a Consultant Obstetrician in Perth Royal Infirmary and the local Midwives Team.

The latter hold ante-natal clinics and consultations and patients have the choice of whom they wish to attend for their ante-natal care.

ABERFELDY SURGERY

We have various non NHS practitioners who use our premises to provide services for our patients e.g. an Acupuncturist, and The Princess Royal Trust for Carers We also actively encourage patients to take an interest in their own health by supporting self help groups (we have a ME group who meet regularly at the surgery just now) and providing a wide range of printed material (books, leaflets and magazines) in the waiting room for patients own use.
